 The Season of Lent begins February 12th

During my quiet time one morning, I was reading one of my devotionals and the topic was forgiveness. I just had to snicker at one of the illustrations [see below] but there was the sobering reality of what our witness can be.

Christ came to this earth as a sin offering and God’s ultimate act of love and forgiveness. I want to encourage each of us to remember the sacrifice of Christ. I pray that we can offer our love and forgiveness to those who are disenfranchised, different, rejected or estranged.  I know it is difficult to give away something we may not have experienced ourselves. It is my prayer as we begin this Lenten season and our journey to Easter that we recognize our personal shortcomings, that we confess these to God, and that we know we are forgiven and embraced in God’s love.  We must do this in order to give the gift to someone else.

 All too many times we talk love and forgiveness as Christians, but our lives are not a witness to our talk. Do our actions contradict what we profess to be, as in the sign at the entrance to the Convent which read;

Absolutely

 NO TRESPASSING!

 Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

May our personal signs boldly proclaim the love,  grace, mercy and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

Laughter IS God’s Blessings,
